Are there any inconvenient points about school uniforms?

There are a couple of inconvenient points about school uniforms we would like to share.

1. The size of the uniform
Most students wear the same uniform from when they enter school to when they graduate.
To most children, especially boys, the uniform will eventually get tight because they will grow a lot. It is true that most students buy oversized uniforms at first, but we cannot predict the exact size. If students get a lot bigger or did not grow so much during those years, they will be wearing the uncomfortable uniforms for many years.

2. The texture of uniforms
Although school uniforms look great and neatly dressed from the outside, it is also true that many students feel uncomfortable wearing them. The inconvenient point about the texture of the uniforms is that it is extreme. Schools usually have two types of uniforms. The ones to wear in the summer, and the ones to wear in the winter. Also, many school have rules of when to wear which type of uniform. In this case, it seems difficult to regulate ones body temperature when it is a cold summer or spring day, or a hot fall or winter day.

  1. I'm basically for the school uniforms because hey are really useful for students. They don't have to choose or buy clothes everyday, and wearing them is a kind of brand only junior high school students and high school students can have. In a society, school uniforms are apparent things that tell people they're students. However, it is true that school uniforms are not flexible and incovenient when thinking about the size or the temperature. I think school uniforms should continue to be worn by students, but the rule of them has to be more flexible and useful for them.

  2. Now I think the school uniforms are really useful for students. Maybe, I can say this because I'm not a student who should wear a school uniform. Actually, when I was a high school student, I sometimes complained about my school uniform especially in summer. This was because its design wasn’t cute and we were banned from dressing down by school regulations.
I am a university student and I have to think what to wear every day. It sometimes makes me stress. However, if I still had my school uniform, I could sleep longer, I didn't have to choose cloths. Moreover, it is true that many university students are likely to want to wear their school uniform they used to wear after graduated. I think present university students tend to think that school uniforms are cute.

  4. I am for school uniforms. For junior high and high school students, I think it is very easy to wear, and you would not have to think about what you are going to wear for the next day. You would not have to think about what others think about what you are wearing, because you would all look the same. I think the real purpose for school uniforms is to notice what is the most important thing you must do when you are in a strict environment. There are cute school uniforms nowadays, and I think wearing school uniforms is a special privilege you are given as a junior high or high school student. In my high school, we did not have a certain school uniform, so I admired the other schools that had school uniforms. You could also save money to buy clothes when you are a university student, and enjoy fashion more.

  5. My high school doesn’t have formal school uniform, so we can wear anything as we like to. And, in my high school, “autonomy and independence” was highly recommended. Every student had our own responsibilities. As far as I know, even if there are no school uniforms, we can’t see a decline in the scholastic ability in my high school. It means that we can’t say that not having school uniform is not connected with a decline in the scholastic ability. I think it depends on students’ consciousness. On the other hand, it’s true that I felt there are no unities during an entrance ceremony or a graduation ceremony. But, except this, I agree to freedom of school uniforms.

  6. I think your topic is very unique. Although I didn’t like my school uniform through my school life, I’ve never think that I didn’t need it. Until we enter high school, we must go to school. There are wide range of people, some live in luxury and some are extremely poor even in Japan. But rich or poor should not be the problem in education scene I think. As you said in your presentation, there are many children who can’t go school because they don’t have school uniform. So, I think school uniform is necessary to get rid of differences between students.
