How are parents feeling about the uniform?

In 2002, Imabari-si (今治市)in Ehime Prefecture held a poll to parents whose child is at the age of between 6 to 8. The city asked 214 people in the city and 55% of parents answered that students should wear uniforms. On the pther hand, 45% of the people wanted to make their child wear their own clothes. Reasons for having a uniform was that therer will be a school pride, teamwork, easy to wear, it is safer, higher concentration, and etc. Some reasons why parents were against the uniform were its expensive, need to buy new sets when children grow up, dirty (cannot wash everyday), and etc.
