When was the First Uniform Worn in the World?

We would like to answer questions that we posted on our blog a while ago. Today, I will answer the question "when was the first uniform worn in the world?".

Accrording to historians, the very first uniform actually started in 1222. They wore uniforms called“cappa clausa” uniforms that looked like robe-like outfit. Then flying over to 16th century in England, the modern uniform was first worn in Christ Hospital Boarding School. It was blue cassocks and yellow stockings. This unifrom is still worn in some schools, therefore it is usually said this style is the 'oldest uniform in history'.

This is the oldest modern uniform at Christ Hoipal Bording School.

  1. I had no idea that school uniforms went all the way back to the 13th Century. From the illustration, the uniform doesn't look so "modern."
